We cannot hold back our anger towards Lim Ok-Sang, who dared to participate in honorary remembrance work (Memorial Site here) that seeks to advocate for women’s rights and peace for sexual violence victims. Given that Lim Ok-Sang, as a perpetrator of sexual crimes had not shown regret nor remorse for his past sexual harassment actions and involved himself with such an honorary project, we are infuriated and deeply appalled. Lim Ok-Sang artist must sincerely apologise to the victims of his crime and must be responsible for the legal consequences of his sexual crimes.

Despite our anger, we cannot excuse ourselves from the doubt that Seoul City is using Lim Ok-Sang’s crime as an excuse to erase the history of Japanese military “comfort women”. Moreover, the two art projects Seoul City has indicated to remove was not solely created by Lim Ok-Sang, but rather was created from the passionate work of countless women artists and honorary art project committees alongside 19,754 civilian donors in dedication to advocate for and raise awareness of the broken and painful history of Japanese Military “comfort women” and to honour the victims. Seoul city must immediately stop the destruction attempts of the Memorial site of 'Comfort Women'.
